Staffordshire police have launched a murder investigation after they arrested a 49-yr-old man and a 29-yr-old woman on suspicion of murdering a baby boy.
Officers were called by the West Midlands Ambulance Service to reports of the child suffering a cardiac arrest at a house on Tuesday at 9pm.
The baby was taken to the hospital, but sadly he died a few hours later.
His death is treated as inexplicable. The police said an autopsy will be carried out in the coming days and the investigation will continue.
The detained couple remain in custody.
