Gardai say that a 30 year old man has been charged in connection with a horrific stabbing of a woman in South Dublin on Tuesday.
It is understood that the victim 65-year-old widow, Jane Braidwood, was viciously attacked in her home in Clarinda Park East in Dun Laoghaire at approximately 5pm on Tuesday evening.
Mrs Braidwood was quickly rushed to St Vincent’s University Hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
The man in question was arrested by Gardai at the scene and is currently being detained at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station. He is expected to appear before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning.
