Martin said to be happy as he announces plans for reopening hospitality, events and travel




Micheal Martin is said to be happy with how Ireland’s reopening roadmap looks as numbers stabilise and the country finally seems to have normality on the horizon.

The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has announced plans for the phase of the reopening of society.

The Taoiseach met with fellow cabinet Ministers and discussed NPHET’s recommendations.

From 19 July, a return to international travel will start for non essential travel, basically holidays.

July 5th sees the return of indoor services in bars and restaurants. 100 attendees can attend indoor venues. There’ll be an increase in outdoor attendance at events. There’ll also be a relaxation of the 50% capacity levels on public transport.  Up to 50 guests will be able to attend weddings from that date too.

There’ll be an increase in numbers attending outdoor events from August 5th.  Up to 100 guests will be allowed attend weddings from this date.

Hotels are back open from Jun 2nd while outdoor bars and restaurants will reopen on June 7th.

From June 7th, up to 200 people at outdoor events, cinemas, and theatres will also reopen. Phased reopening of day centres for older people will start from this date too.
