The Minister for Justice, Helen McEntee, has stated that those responsible for setting fire to a former pub in Ringsend will be brought to justice, reports Breaking News.
The fire that broke out before 2 am is believed to be a deliberate act, though the cause has not yet been established.
The building, located on Thorncastle Street, was to be used to house homeless families, reports Breaking News.
In a statement released this evening, McEntee emphasized that arson is a very serious crime that carries heavy prison sentences.
She further added that no one has the right to cause property damage, instill fear or threaten public order.
As per the Irish Examiner, the fire is being investigated by gardaí, and McEntee is urging anyone with information to come forward, reports Breaking News.
