Met Eireann forecasts benign weather for the upcoming June Bank Holiday weekend, with temperatures hitting 20C and good sunny spells throughout.

Today, Thursday, will remain largely overcast around western areas, brighter in the east, and showers will develop throughout the day, spreading westwards as the day goes on. Temperatures will reach 20-21C in the afternoon in many areas.

Friday will be mostly dry, with just some showers around Atlantic fringes.

Saturday and Sunday will be warm and pleasant days, with just some light showers, mostly around Ulster, the midlands, and north Leinster.
