Met Eireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for thunderstorms affecting six counties.
The warning, which comes into effect at noon today, affects counties Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow, and Tipperary.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties might see localized flooding and hazardous driving conditions.
The warning will remain in place until 8pm.
