Met Eireann has issued an urgent nationwide warning for high temperatures, as the thermometer is expected to rise past the 27C mark.
The warning will come into effect at 8am on Thursday and remain in place until 8am on Saturday.
According to Met Eireann, the current heatwave will last throughout the week, though more unsettled weather is expected by next week.
