Met Eireann has issued an urgent nationwide Status Yellow weather warning for icy conditions.
The warning came into effect at 4pm, and will remain in place until noon tomorrow.
According to the national forecaster, temperatures might sink to -5C throughout the evening and overnight, which may lead to hazardous driving and walking conditions in the morning.
