Met Eireann has issued an urgent Status Orange warning for counties Kerry and Cork ahead of the arrival of Storm Gerrit.
The warning kicked in at 8pm, and will remain in effect until midnight on Wednesday.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience very heavy rain and blustery conditions.
