Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning for 26 counties as thunderstorms approach.
The warning, which affects all of Leinster and counties Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Connacht, Tipperary, and Waterford, will be in effect until 9pm this evening.
The outlook is for very unsettled weather to continue into Friday and over the coming weekend.
