Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning for five counties, as miserable conditions are predicted for Christmas Day.
A Status Yellow warning will be in place for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Waterford from midnight tonight until 11pm on Saturday.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience persistent rain, which might lead to localized flooding.
