Met Eireann is today saying that Ireland will experience a lasting heatwave (Irish style) in the very near future, with temperatures rising to just below 20C.
According to the national forecaster, Monday May 16 will mark the beginning of a long period of mild and settled weather, which might last for about two weeks.
In the meantime, the current week is forecast to be very changeable, with mild temperatures but plenty of rain too.
