Mild weather to come to an end this week as forecasters warn of a possible storm making its way to Ireland

Ireland is currently enjoying an unusually mild end to February which has many of us dreaming of summer already, however the current mild spell isn’t set to last with changes expected to come over the weekend.

Although the country is set to see a settled, sunny and mild few days ahead, Met Eireann say strong winds and heavy rain showers are expected to arrive by Saturday.

The predicted unsettled spell could see storm like conditions in the south of the country as temperatures are expected to drop to a more seasonal average over the weekend.

However forecasters say there is a possibility of a storm, it is still too early to tell – but early indications suggest it will be mainly unsettled over the weekend.
