Minister for Agriculture signs law prohibiting wild animals to be used in circus shows

Irish Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed signed a new law today, explicitly banning the use of wild animals in circus shows.

According to the minister, it is a ‘progressive’ move that reflects the Government’s view on the issue.

The Circuses (Prohibition on Use of Wild Animals) Regulations 2017 fall under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.
