Minister for Finance Paschal Donoghue has said that ‘there’s no decision yet’ as to whether or not the Covid-19 emergency payments will be extended.
The current deadline for the payment, which is being issued to over 500,000 people, is June 8.
The minister attempted to elicit concern by saying that the payment is ‘costing hundreds of millions of euro per week,’ but recently admitted that government ministers will definitely not take a pay cut during the crisis.
