
Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan will ask for approval to provide Gardai with body cameras to aid them in their day-to-day operations.
Bodycams are already a feature amongst police forces in a number of countries, but their use is not legal in Ireland yet. The new legislation would provide the legal framework for the introduction of bodycams nationwide.
