The Minister for Justice Helen McEntee has signed new regulation that will stop Visa free travel into the country.
It is understood that the visa free travel ban will apply to 12 countries from South America and Africa.
The regulations which have come into effect from midnight, were put in place as the Government have become concerned over new variants of Covid-19 entering the country.
The countries include Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and South Africa.
