Over 5,000 homeless individuals and low-income families in Dublin were provided with free Christmas dinners.

The annual gathering, which has been running for 99 years, took place at the RDS and catered to 500 guests who enjoyed a traditional Christmas meal.

Additionally, around 5,000 beneficiaries were given special takeaway meals.

The Knights of Columbanus organised the event, and volunteers welcomed groups of men and women, young families, and people who would have otherwise spent Christmas alone.

Chefs worked hard to prepare and serve the meal, reports Breaking News.

Organisers say that the event provides homeless individuals with a meal that they would not have had otherwise.
