After a washout October Bank Holiday, there is no let up to poor weather in sight.
Further spells of heavy and persistent rain are forecast for today, with highest temperatures reaching 12-14C. There will be moderate southeasterly winds.
The rain is expected to clear in the west and southwest towards the afternoon, though showers will remain in the rest of the country for most of the day.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is expected to be somewhat drier and brighter, with only occasional showers.
