Motorists urged to proceed with caution as Met Eireann issue a yellow status warning – with snow and ice expected in most parts this morning 





Met Eireann have issued another snow and ice yellow alert warning as the country is expected to experience further wintery conditions this morning.

It is understood the weather warning will remain in place until 12pm this afternoon.

The national forecaster say scattered snow showers are expected throughout the morning and they could lead to up to 3cm of accumulation in some parts.

It is thought the worst of the weather will be in the North and West of the country.

Meanwhile motorists have been urged to travel with caution as widespread frost and ice is expected first thing as temperatures dropped to -2C overnight.
