Gardai have launched a murder investigation after a young woman was killed while out jogging in an Irish county.
The victim was named as 22-year-old Ashling Murphy. She was reportedly attacked as she exercised along the banks of the Grand Canal at Cappincur in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, at around 4pm on Wednesday.
Gardai have said that the attack appears to have been random.
A man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
