A Russian nanny has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after she poisoned a two-year-old infant with salt.
According to Pomorie, the nanny named as Yana Deinesh, 25, deliberately poisoned the boy in the village of Kholmogory, in June of last year.
It is reported that the cruel nanny decided to give the infant the lethal dose of salt after he became moody.
During a lengthy trial, a court heard testimony from police officers investigating the case.
It is believed that Deinesh confessed to the child’s killing after she was interviewed by police.
In compelling testimony the court were told of how Deinesh confessed to force feeding the infant the excessive amount of salt after she mixed it in his porridge.
Although a number of attempts were made by doctors to save the infant’s life after he lost consciousness immediately after eating the dosed porridge.
Investigators leading the case say they determined that the little boy was force fed 50 grams of salt by Deinesh.
Deinesh who appeared before Arkhangelsk Regional Court this week was charged with murder and was given a 14 year prison sentence.
