New proposals have been proposed that will see the banning of tattoo’s and intimate piercings for people under the age of 18.
Under new proposals submitted by Fianna Fáil Mary Butler, tattoo and piercing specialists will be prohibited from giving tattoo’s and intimate piercings to teenagers.
The Regulation of Intimate Piercing and Tattoo Bill 2018, will also see new safety regulations introduced into the sector which is said to be a fast growing industry in Ireland.
Mrs Butler said the Bill would provide safety to young people as the process of getting either a tattoo or a piercing has been known to cause complications in younger people.
