New survey indicates that illegal dumping is on the rise

A survey conducted across Ireland has found that illegal dumping is on the rise, despite litter levels decreasing.

The report states that Kilkenny is the cleanest city, while Farranree in Cork and Galvone in Limerick cited as litter and dumping blackspots.

The survey was conducted by the Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL), which found that while most Irish main towns are now clean to European standards, isolated ‘dirty’ pockets remain in some inner urban areas.

The report also found that Mahon in Cork, Castlebar in Mayo, and Ballymun, along with parts of Dublin’s north inner city, were all badly littered.
