There will be a major gathering in Dublin later today as it is expected up to 20,000 people will take part in the city marathon.
The 26 mile long course will see professional and amateur athletes from all across the country test themselves on the grueling run which is expected to get underway at 9am.
It is understood the weather will be mainly dry, with light southerly winds and temperatures expected to be around 10 to 14 degrees.
