Gardai’s initiative to curtail speeding offences officially ended this morning at 7am, with a total of 454 instances of speeding recorded.
Yet, according to Garda sources, the message was ‘heeded’, and they said there was a noticeable reduction in speed across our roads.
Over the 24 hour enforcement period, 104,966 vehicles were checked, with 454 caught speeding.
Gardai are asking motorists to continue driving safely and respect speed limits.
