According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, more than a million people have fled Ukraine since Russia invaded last week.
It’s understood that the UNHCR are comparing the conflict with World War II.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, has called for a ceasefire in Ukraine”so that life-saving humanitarian aid can be provided.
UNHCR has already warned that if Russia continues with the conflict that the ultimate number of refugees could exceed 4 million people, 10% of Ukraine’s population.
