Parking could rise to €7 an hour under new proposals being considered by Dublin City Council

Parking in Dublin city centre could soon become a whole lot more expensive under new proposals being considered by the City Council.

Under new plans to make the capital a sustainable city, Dublin city council are considering introducing measures that will see parking rates double each year.

The proposals which see on street parking rise to €7 an hour by 2025, are being considered by the Transport Committee.

Other plans include introducing 30km/h speed limits to more residential areas across the city by next September.
