Political Correct Insanity: Authorities in Derry and Tyrone have banned the Tri-Colour from this year’s St Patrick’s Day parades to avoid tensions between communities




Authorities in Derry City and Strabane, Co Tyrone have banned the public display of the Tri-Colour in this years St. Patricks Day parades.

The authorities were quick to emphasise that all flags and emblems will be banned however, many in the majority nationalist areas have cried hypocrisy, as it is unlikely that the Union Jack and flags of Loyalist paramilitaries will banned this marching season.

The move is being described by local councillors as bid to promote inclusion and avoid inflammation of .

This is not the first time that local authorities have sought to have the Irish flag removed from public display on the island of Ireland.

In Dublin West where Solidarity Party councillor Matthew Waine called for the flag to be removed from display at the council’s HQ and instead suggested the gay pride or red flag of communism fly instead.
