Prepare for a very different Christmas as drinks with family and friends not looking likely as pubs will likely stay closed over the festive period

What will happen tomorrow is anyone’s guess but it’s not looking good for pubs or possibly even some hospitality outlets as NPHET as put its foot down that the government have to be overtly cautious in lifting the Level 5 lockdown.

It is looking likely that pubs will remain closed over the Christmas season as the Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that there won’t be a scenario were there will be gatherings at bars across the country.

Speaking to Virgin Media News, the Taoiseach said that the Government does intend to leave Level 5 restrictions on December 1st, but warned that this Christmas won’t be like Christmas of yesteryear.

Martin told Virgin Media News, that he himself normally pops down to a pub in Cork over Christmas week were there would normally be large crowds, but said that he doesn’t think that will be the case this year as there won’t be large crowds in bars and restaurants in just over a month’s time.

He went to say that he can’t see a situation were crowds would be allowed to gather and a scenario that would allow everyone to touch base with one another down their local.
