Professor Philip Nolan has issued a stark warning as it has been revealed that Ireland’s Covid-19 Reproductive number has grown in the past week.
Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Professor Nolan said that the country’s R number now stands between 1.1 and 1.3.
Professor Nolan has warned that the country could see up to a 1,000 cases per day in January if we do not take steps to stem the spread of the virus.
He added that NPHET is particularly concerned about the elderly and vulnerable people as the rate of the virus continues to grow.
