French news sources claim that protesters have thrown soup at the Mona Lisa portrait at the Louvre Museum in Paris, reports Breaking News.

One of the most well-known pieces of art in the entire world, the 16th-century painting by Leonardo Da Vinci, is shielded by a glass pane.

A woman can be seen sprinkling liquid from a tin onto the artwork in a video that the French news agency CL Press released, reports Breaking News.

She then walks across a line separating the painting from the public with another woman. They are both wearing T-shirts with the words Riposte Alimentaire, which means “food response,” printed on the front.

Later, staff members can be seen scrambling to prop up black protective panels to conceal the disruption, reports Breaking News.
