Questions raised as to how RTE Investigates had camera crews in hospitals when family members could not say goodbye to loved ones

Make no mistake, thousands of front line workers have done their utmost in the fight against coronavirus. They’ve worked around the clock up and down the country doing all they can to keep Ireland safe – however, questions have been raised regarding RTE investigates programme that aired this week from inside hospitals.

Endless numbers of families went through the worst time of their lives not being able to physically be with their loved ones as they passed onto the next life. They were forced to watch their family relations suffer and die via the most horrible way – through a tablet or in many cases not at all.

So it has begged the question, why were RTE allowed to go into hospitals with film crews and film people sick, dying and workers doing all they can when no family members were afforded the same priviledge.

As one social media user put it “surely it would have been better, fairer and just the right thing to do to let family members in rather than a film crew. We’re not stupid, we’ve seen Italy, we know what goes on in hospitals with coronavirus, but families will never get that chance back again.”
