Car manufacturer Ford has issued a recall notice for its Ranger and Everest models due to an issue with the airbag system.
According to Ford, the problem lies with the propellant gas used to deploy the airbag. The gas’ properties may alter over time, causing over-pressure which may lead to the rupturing of the airbag casing, potentially turning it into shrapnel that can maim or kill those inside the car.
A total of 949 vehicles in Ireland are affected by this recall. Ford will contact the owners in due course.
