RED ALERT: Storm Hannah blasts Ireland with at least 10,000 homes out of power and many trees down

Storm Hannah has greeted Ireland by smashing the south west coast up and down with gale force winds of up to 130kph.

Up to 10,000 homes are now without power with the ESB saying that they’re under immense pressure to get power back to homes tonight.

The ESB says a number of faults have occurred after winds smashed out masts that in Kerry and Cork.

It is understood that a number of homes in Kenmare, Co Kerry have been left without power this evening, whilst Garrabane also experienced faults earlier this evening.

A number of trees are down across roads in Kerry and Cork and people are advised to be careful if they have to go out but gardai have advised people to stay in off streets and roads and to avoid driving if at all possible.

People are advised to share this information with their friends.
