A man has appeared in Court in the UK, accused of murdering an 86-year-old woman and assaulting her husband so badly that he remains in a critical condition in hospital.
According to the Metro, Vasile Culea, 33, was arrested after Freda Walker was killed in an attack that was described as āhorrendousā.Ā He husband Ken, who is 88 in still in hospital in a critical condition.
Culea, a Romanian, is now charged with allegedly murdering Mrs Walker and attempting to murder her husband. It is said that the police are investigating whether the incident was a burglary.
An interpreter was engaged to assist Culea in Court and he only spoke to confirm his name.
