The Minister for Transport Shane Ross has said the Gardaí have his full support when it comes to tackling the fraudulent use of parking spaces for people with disabilities.
Minister Ross’s comments come after the Gardaí recently published details about their campaign which seen them seize 11 permits in the past month.
Mr Ross said he fully intends to stamp out the issue and claimed he has been actively involved addressing the problem.
Meanwhile Mr Ross also said he will write to Minister for Planning Simon Coveney, to ask for his intervention and to ask him to contact local authorities requesting more parking spaces for disabled people.
