Rough air ahead, we’re in for some chop today

windwarning

Sharp-eyed readers will no doubt have picked up the reference to the classic 1986 sci-fi action flick Aliens in the title of this piece.

For those who did not, it translates as a yellow wind warning being in place for several areas today.

The warning affects Donegal, Clare, Kerry, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. Winds of about 65km/h will lash these counties, with gusts of up to 90km/h possible.

The warning will remain in place until 9pm for Donegal, and 6pm for the rest.
