Sacandalous: Latest figures reveal more than 50% of the cars that underwent a NCT test failed in 2016




According to figures published by the Road Safety Authority over half of NCT tests carried out last year ended with a fail.

The report which was published this week shows that of the 1,465,702 cars tested around the country in 2016 only 47.2% passed with 51.7% failing the much criticised test.

However for those who are wondering where is the centre with the most past rates, you will be happy to know the detailed report has also published the most and least successful centres across the country. 

According to the detailed figures the Kilkenny Test centre is the most successful with pass rate of 55% which is the highest rate in the State.

Meanwhile Killarney was second on the list with 54.1% followed by Portlaoise in third with 53.9%.

Although the Cliffden centre in Co Galway, came in last place with the highest failure rate at 61.3%, followed by Monaghan 60.5% and Longford 57.5 %.
