Legendary Film and TV actor, politician, and all-round good guy, Fred Thompson sadly passed away late last night aged 73.
Thompson’s most famous film role is when he played Trudeau, the head of Dulles Airport in Die Hard 2. He also starred in “Law and Order” from 2002 to 2007 as D.A. Arthur Branch on “Law & Order” for five years, and also appeared on the show’s spinoffs “Special Victims Unit” and “Trial by Jury” as the character.
“It is with a heavy heart and a deep sense of grief that we share the passing of our brother, husband, father, and grandfather who died peacefully in Nashville surrounded by his family,” reads the statement from his family.
Thompson was also major Republican politician and was a GOP presidential candidate in 2008, as well as a Watergate attorney.
