The country is currently experiencing the tail end of Hurricane Gonzalo, a weather system that has wrecked severe damage in Bermuda, out in the Caribbean.
Closer to home, Met Eireann has issued a yellow and orange weather alert for different parts of the country. A wind alert is in place for counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo, where strong to gale force gusts of up to 90-110 km/h are expected.
Heavy rain will also feature across the country, but it will die down into showers later in the night.
