Shameful disgrace: 13 families face homelessness on election day

The depth of this Government’s failures cannot be underestimated.

And there isn’t a more wretched indictment to Kenny & Burton and co. than the phantom of homelessness hovering over thousands of families across the country, today.

And on election day, 13 more families face such prospect.

Last Thursday, they were told that they will be without a home on Friday, February 26. These families are currently residing at a hostel at 54-55 Mountjoy Street. A number of these families have been living there for 10 months.

They are now appealing to the hostel’s management and the Dublin City Council to resolve the situation and provide adequate housing.

A spokesperson for the families will address the crowds expected tomorrow at the protest organised by the Right2Water/Right2Change campaigns.

The march will begin at the Garden of Remembrance at 2pm in Dublin tomorrow afternoon.
