A woman in Buenos Aires has received great praise for her courageous decision to share a deeply shocking video of her 94-year-old mother being abused by a carer in her own home.
The woman named Miriam Marino decided to put the horrifying video online in order to highlight the ever growing problem worldwide and she hopes people will be made aware of what happens behind closed doors.
Ms Marino told reporters she became very suspicious of her mother’s carer after she was informed by a neighbour that there was something going on, and subsequently decided to place a secret camera in her mother’s home where she was being cared for.
A distraught Ms Marino said she was completely shocked and horrified what the footage later revealed. The horrific video shows the carer grabbing the elderly woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease since the past three years, by the hair, smacking her, kicking her and taunting her.
Ms Marino says she hopes that people will pay attention to the appalling footage and make sure that their loved one’s are safe and are being cared for properly.
