Reports of welfare fraud to the Department of Social Protection has risen by over 500 a week according to the new Minister of the department Regina Doherty.

According to Ms Doherty there were approximately 5,000 complaints made in in the past two months.
The increase in complaints now marks a 50% rise from this time last year.
