Rick Parfitt, who played guitar with world-renowned band Status Quo, has sadly passed away aged 68.
It is understood he has died as a consequence of a severe infection in the wake of complications from a recent injury.
Parfitt had suffered a number of health issues over the last decade, and underwent a quadruple heart bypass in 1997.
He survived a heart attack as recently as the last summer, and had announced he would no longer play with his band.
