A student loans company sent 55,000 copies of the same letter to a man whose daughter had just taken a loan. To add insult to injury, all 55,000 letters quoted the incorrect amount.
The bizarre incident happened in Ohio, United States, in recent times.
The man was shocked when his local post office contacted him to say that there were 79 bins full of mail on his name waiting to be collected.
The company, College Avenue Student Loan Company, later apologized for the error. The firm would have spent over $10,000 in dispatching the letters.
