Temperatures have plunged to -31C in some areas of the United States as a ‘bomb cyclone’ weather event hits the country.
Centra states are under severe winter weather alert, with the lowest temperature so far recorded in Montana.
Other places such as Iowa will feel like -39C due to windchill. At this temperature, frostbite will occur in less than 5 minutes of exposure.
