The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party, Jeffrey Donaldson has said in no certain terms that the party will not be nominating a speaker to the Stormont Assembly following last week’s election in Northern Ireland.
Donaldson also said that the party is demanding changes to the protocol

I believe that we need to send a very clear message to the European Union and the government that they are serious in getting the Northern Ireland protocol sorted out once and for all.
