The government officially requests Irish people open their doors and take in some of the 100,000 Ukrainian refugees

The government has officially asked Irish people to open their doors and take in Ukrainian refugees into their home because there quite frankly will be too many for the State to accommodate.

As it stands, around 10,000 Irish people are homeless and lie strewn around the country, but they appear to be neglected yet again as the government seems bent on following suit of their European overlords and following protocol, regardless of how it looks in relation to the homeless crisis.

It had been rumoured that Irish people would be asked to house the refugees, but nothing was concrete – until today that is.

An official government request website in conjunction with the redcross has been set up and is accessible here. https://registerofpledgedes.redcross.ie

It’s not yet know how many people will sign up to pledge their home, but it will have to happen quickly as people are already coming into the country.
