Three men appear in court charged with the murder of 64 year old Thomas Dooley

Three men have appeared in court and have been charged with the murder of 64-year-old Thomas “Toddy” Dooley from Co Offaly earlier this year.

The three men accused of the murder of Mr Dooleywere named as James Davy, 23, of Thornhill Meadows, Celbridge, Co Kildare; Sean Davy, 20, of Clonmullen Drive and Matthew Cummins, 20, of Churchview Heights, both in Edenderry, Co Offaly appeared at a sitting before Tullamore District Court.

It is understood that two of the defendants Sean Davy and James Davy made no reply when charged with Mr Dooley’s murder.
Although Detective Garda Joe Hughes told the court that Mr Cummins responded when charged saying: “I never touched him”.

All three men have been remanded in custody to appear again before Cloverhill District Court on the 28th of November.
Mr Dooley’s body was found on a couch in the living room of his home in Sister Senan Court in Edenderry on 16th February last.
